1. Can I use more than BookBox at a time?

Yes you can use multiple BookBoxes right next to each other because each box is keyed to a specific BookCase. When you first rez your BookBox System, all of the BookBoxes are keyed to the BookCase that they are shelved in. From that point on, individual BookBoxes can be unshelved, taken, and rerezzed and they will always remember which BookCase they are keyed to. Every time you take and re-rez a BookCase, the shelved BookBoxes are re-keyed to that BookCase. In order to keep this working smoothly, it is VERY important that if you ever "take" a BookCase into your inventory, you should make sure that ALL of its BookBoxes are on the shelves. If you take a BookCase into your inventory while any of its BookBoxes are missing from the shelves, then any BookBoxes that were not on the shelves will be orphaned. Here's how to fix that.

2. Can I use BookBox to share items with people?

Sure! But please note that storing non-copyable and non-transferable items in BookBox will NOT affect those permissions. This means that if you "Take" a non-copyable item from the BookBox, a copy of it will NOT remain in your BookBox and it will send you the following warning: Warning - item was MOVED to your inventory, not copied! This also means that if you put non-transferable items in the BookBox--other people will not be able to take them. So be careful with your transfer/no-copy items! To share your BookBox items with a group, you need to edit the configuration notecard for the boxes you want to share and set AllowGroup On. It will share only with members of the group that your Bookbox set to.

3. How do I turn off or change the hovertext above each box?

Click on the BookCase and select "Hide/Show Labels" to turn the labels on and off. You control the color of the text by editing the configuration notecard in the BookBox and using the CategoryColor command (this way you can have a different color for each box). This command is described on page 8 of the user manual. The ItemColor and ShowItemType commands also affect the hover text.

4. One of my boxes is no longer recognized by the bookcase!

If you take a BookCase into your inventory while any of its BookBoxes are missing from the shelves, then any BookBoxes that were not on the shelves will be orphaned. Follow these steps to fix that:
1. Stand near the Bookcase and make sure that no other BookCases are within 20 meters of you.
2. Select the orphaned BookBox in edit mode, click on the Contents tab, open the bookbox homing" script, then click on the Reset button within the script editor.
3. Take the BookBox into your inventory, then re-rez it near the BookCase that you want to key it to.
4. The BookBox will now jump onto the BookCase (but it is not yet keyed yet!)
5. Take the BookCase into your inventory and then re-rez it. All the BookBoxes on the shelves are once again keyed to that BookCase.

5. I have a lot of scripts. Can I store them in BookBox?

Generally we suggest that you do NOT store scripts in a BookBox. Technically you can store scripts in a BookBox--but only if it is NOT running. It is SO easy to accidentally leave a script running--that it is safest to just not put scripts in there. In fact--about 90% of the time when customers report problems with their BookBox--it's because they accidentally put a running script in one of the BookBoxes.

6. How many things can I store in my BookBox?

In all our testing, we have never run into a limit! This is limited by the SL asset servers. However, the more items you have in a single box, there slower it may be during retrieval. Some customers have reported successfully storing more than 600 per box in their systems!

7. How do I fix it if I have a spot on a shelf that thinks it has a book box, but it doesn't?

You'll need to unshelve all the boxes then reset the bookcase. Follow these steps *exactly*:
    1) One by one, un-shelve all of the boxes that are on the BookCase.
    2) Select the BookCase. This can be done by right-clicking it but NOT making a choice from the pie menu.
    3) Now that the BookCase is selected, from the SL menu "Tools", choose the "Reset Scripts in Selection" item.
    4) One by one, re-shelve all of the boxes.
